TVXQ have become the first overseas artistes to have 12 singles top the Oricon charts in Japan.

On the 22nd, TVXQ’s agency stated, “TVXQ’s new single ‘Catch Me-If you wanna-’, which was released on the 16th, topped the daily Oricon singles charts as soon as it was released. It topped the weekly charts as well, making it their 12th single to top the Oricon weekly singles charts.”

TVXQ’s success has broken their own record for the most singles topping the Oricon weekly charts as overseas artistes. This is their 28th single to enter the TOP 10 of the weekly single charts since their 7th single ‘SKY’ in August, 2006, breaking the record for the most #1 singles and the most singles in the TOP 10 of the weekly singles charts released by overseas artistes. Their latest single contains the Japanese version of ‘Catch Me’, the title song of TVXQ’s 6th Korean album last September. ‘Catch Me’ topped various music charts in Korea, Thailand, Taiwan and Japan.

Oricon’s official homepage posted an article with the title, “TVXQ score their 12th chart-topping single! Breaking the record for ‘the most #1 singles’ for overseas singers”.

Meanwhile, TVXQ will be releasing their new Japanese album ‘TIME’ on the 6th of March and will begin their Dome Tour (Tokyo Dome, Oksaka Kyocera Dome, Fukuoka Yahoo!Japan Dome, Sapporo Dome, Nagoya Dome) on the 27th of April with their Saitama Super Arena performance.

TVXQ have topped the Oricon charts yet again.

TVXQ released their new Japanese single ‘Catch me – If you wanna’ on the 16th of January, and immediately topped the Oricon Daily Charts. With sales of 84,600 copies, they won with a wide margin between them and second place.

Their latest single includes the Japanese version of their Korean song ‘Catch Me’, and is being used as the theme song for the FujiTV drama ‘Saki’. This is their first Japanese single in a while, and the response they received from fans was explosive.

TVXQ’s individual activities have begun with the start of the new year. U-Know Yunho is currently appearing in the SBS drama ‘Queen of Ambition’, while Max Changmin will be appearing in the KBS 2TV variety show ‘Moonlight Prince’.

TVXQ‘s latest Japanese single, “Catch Me -If you wanna-” debuted at #1 on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart in Japan.

Their 36th Japanese single was officially released on January 16 and after first day of sales, “Catch Me -If you wanna-” sold 84,666 units which was good enough to take the top spot.

“Catch Me -If you wanna-” also includes a Japanese original ballad titled, “I Know“. The duo also revealed that they will be releasing their new Japanese album, ‘TIME‘, on March 6th.

[News] 120810 Kim Hyun Joong-TVXQ Ranks 3rd and 4th on Oricon Weekly Chart

Kim Hyun Joong and TVXQ have taken over the Oricon charts.

Kim Hyun Joong and TVXQ have ranked 3rd and 4th respectively on the July Oricon Weekly Charts. Kim Hyun Joong’s new album, HEAT, has sold 196,850 copies and has ranked 3rd place. On the first day of the album’s release he had already sold 14,000 copies and ranked number 1 on the Oricon Daily Chart. Within the first week he sold 183,000 copies and was still ranked number 1 on the weekly chart.

On July 11, TVXQ released their single album, ANDROID, which sold 171, 554 copies an ranked 4th on the chart. With this album on the charts, this totaled their 11th time placing first on the single cart and first for a foreign artist to break a record.

Kim Hyun Joong is currently filming for his new drama, “Conquest of the City” and TVXQ will be attending the ‘SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR’ concert on August 18.

[Trans] 120808 TVXQ’s Oricon Chart Topping DVD Will Be Released In Korea On The 8th

TVXQ DVD ‘東方神起 LIVE TOUR 2012~TONE~’ is set to be released in Korea on the 8th.

TVXQ recently topped the daily and weekly Oricon DVD charts with their DVD that was released on the 25th of July. They became the first foreign artistes to have two consecutive DVDs top the weekly charts and have proved once more just how popular they are in Japan.

The DVD, released in two versions (2 DVD and 3 DVD), contains footage that was taken during the group’s concert in Tokyo Dome on the 15th of April, which was part of TVXQ’s tour that took them across 11 cities from January to April and attracted a total of 550,000 people in 26 concerts.

Also, the 3 DVD version contains a ‘LIVE TOUR 2012 ~TONE~ Backstage & MC DIGEST’ segment, which takes a peek at the scene backstage, as well as a ‘LIVE DIGEST in Saitama Super Arena’ segment that shows the highlights of TVXQ’s Saitama performance in March. An additional segment titled ‘MC MOVIE in TOKYO DOME’, which will have the members talking about how they had felt during the Tokyo Dome performance, has also been included and the DVD is expected to be met with a positive response from fans.
