Max Changmin has won the Best Rookie Award at a Japanese film awards ceremony.

According to the Japanese Academy Association on the 22nd of January, TVXQ’s Max Changmin has been chosen to win the ‘Best Rookie Award’ at the ’36th Japanese Academy Awards’ for his role in ‘Run with the Gold’ last year.

In his first movie debut, Max Changmin played the role of Momo, a North Korean bomb expert. Though he had to act in Japanese, he showcased his excellent language abilities, even talking in a specific dialect, and perfectly expressed the inner pains of Momo. The association has stated that there are enough reasons for Max Changmin to receive the Best Rookie Award.

Max Changmin made his acting debut in the drama ‘Paradise Ranch’ in 2011 and continued on to appear in ‘Athena: Goddess of War’ and ‘Run with the Gold’. He has been showing his potential as a rookie actor and has increased the anticipation surrounding his future acting career.

Held by the Korea Model Association, organized by DKB and Model Center International and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Tourist Service and the Korea International Broadcasting Foundation, the ’2013 Asia Model Awards Ceremony’ is the largest model event in Asia as was held by 15 Asian countries under the slogan ‘Asia is One’.

On this day, awards were given for the best fashion model, kids model, rookie model, super model and racing model, as well in non-model categories as the Asia Star award, Special Asia award, Popular Star award, Popular Singer award, Model Star award, New Star award, Fashionista award and the International Culture Interaction award.

The model category awards were won by Kim Kyeong Won, Kim Woo Jung, Lee Go Eun, Ahn JAe Hyun, Kang Seung Hyun, Ha Seok and Stephanie Lee, while the non-model categories were won by domestic and overseas sears from movies, drama, music and fashion such as Oolala Session, Davichi, Nine Muses, Kim Woo Bin, Yoon Jinee, Kim Hyeong Joon, Yoo In Young, Lee Sang Yoon, Yoo In Na, Lee Da Hae, TVXQ, Professor Jimmy Choo, racing model Heo Yoon Mi, Park Shi Hyun, Joo Da Ha and Han Chae I.

[News] 120813 TVXQ and Kim Hyun Joong Receive Golden Disc Award in Japan

Korean artists TVXQ and Kim Hyun Joong both won the Golden Disc Award in Japan.

A Japanese record association stated that TVXQ’s single, ANDROID, which was released on July 11, and their Japan Live Tour ‘Tone’ DVD had both been seen on the ‘gold’ list.

In order to be on the ‘gold’ list, an artist’s album had to have sold over 10,000 copies. TVXQ along with Kim Hyun Joong and his new single, HEAT, were both seen on the chart.

TVXQ also holds another record in that this new single, ANDROID, is the 11th time their album has ranked on the Oricon Weekly Single Chart.

TVXQ has ranked number 1 with 11 of their songs and this will be the first time in 45 years that an artist has broken the record for a foreign artists ranking number 1 on the weekly chart over 10 times.

TVXQ has recently just finished their large-scale Japan concert and fan meeting. Kim Hyun Joong will continue his Asia activities.

TVXQ have received the Best Singer Award at the Korea Broadcasting Awards.

At 3p.m. on the 2nd, the 38th Korea Broadcasting Awards Ceremony took place at the KBS Hall and TVXQ were awarded the Best Singer Award, but as they were scheduled to perform at Tokyo Dome for three days till the 4th, TVXQ were unable to attend.

Through a video message, TVXQ said, “We’re grateful to receive the Best Singer Award. It would have been great if we could have stood on stage to receive the award and give our acceptance speech, but we are unfortunately unable to due to our overseas schedule,” and “We will continue to work harder than before as singers who promote Korea.

Meanwhile, 31 productions in 29 genres including the KBS drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, MBC’s ‘Sisa Magazine 2580′, SBS drama ‘Giant’, EBS’ ‘What is School’ and CBS’ ‘Kim Dong Gyu’s To the Beautiful You’ were awarded the Award for Best Production.

[News] TVXQ wins ‘Singer’s Award’ at the 38th ‘Korea Broadcasting Awards’

On September 2nd, TVXQ was awarded the ‘Singer’s Award’ at the 38th ‘Korea Broadcasting Awards‘ held at the KBS Hall in Yeoido, Seoul.

Unfortunately, due to their commitments with ‘SM Town Live in Tokyo‘, the duo was unable to make it to the event.

TVXQ has led a busy year thus far, starting with promotions for their comeback album, “Keep Your Head Down“, in addition to promoting for its repackaged album, “Before U Go“.  They’ve also promoted actively in Japan with “Superstar“, and once again marked their status as Hallyu stars.

Changmin commented, “I’d like to apologize for not being able to attend and give a proper award’s speech.” Yunho added, “I’m extremely glad that we were able to receive such an honorable award and promise to work hard as Korean singers to raise awareness about our country’s culture all around the world.”

TVXQ will be in Japan until the 4th for ‘SM Town Live in Tokyo’.
